Chocolate Orange Balls

One taste and you’ll see why orange and chocolate are a great flavor combination in candy. With this recipe you’ll be able to delight your loved ones with these little treats. Step back and watch each face brighten with a smile with each bite.

Prep time: 10 min.

Ingredients

  • 2 - package (8 1/2-ounce) chocolate wafer cookies, crushed (about 4 1/2 cups crumbs)
  • 1 - can (14-ounce) Sweetened Condensed Milk (NOT evaporated milk)
  • 1 - package (9-ounce) Condensed Mincemeat, crumbled
  • 1 1/3 - cups flaked coconut
  • 1 - cup chopped nuts
  • 1/3 - cup orange juice
  • 1 - Tablespoon grated orange rind
  • Unsweetened cocoa or confectioners' sugar

Directions:

  1. In large bowl, combine all ingredients except cocoa until well blended.
  2. Chill 4 hours or overnight.
  3. Shape mixture into 1-inch balls. (Rechill if mixture becomes too soft).
  4. Roll in cocoa. Place on wax paper lined baking sheets; chill 2 hours or until firm.
  5. Store leftovers tightly covered in refrigerator.
  6. Alan's Kitchen Tip: Flavor of these candies improves after 24 hours.
  7. They can be made ahead and stored in refrigerator for several weeks.
