My wife & I are going to attend an evening performance of the symphony in the part.  I know wine and cheese are the traditional items, but I'm trying to be original and treat her to something special.  I am open to any suggestions.

I like traditional, however, let's look at some special things.  What about a nice Madeira wine?  This is a sweet, fortified wine.  Get a really good Madeira.  Also, go to a gourmet grocery and find some really good, meaning smooth, cheddar cheese.  While we are at it, let's add some apples with it. 

While at it, pack it up in a nice picnic basket, cloth table cloth, and cloth napkins and find a great romantic spot that you could enjoy it before heading to the symphony. Hope this helps.
