Debi's
Quick Bread
Ingredients
Directions
Preheat the oven
to 350° F.
- In a glass bowl,
I pour in the warm water.
I add the yeast, sugar, and proof for ten
minutes. I
want the yeast to become frothy.
- In a large bowl,
I add flour.
I make a hole in the flour.
Then I add the vegetable oil, salt and
pour yeast mixture into the hole.
I mix the flour dough it becomes sticky.
- I cover the bowl
with cloth and let the dough rise for 1 hour.
The dough should double in size.
Then I punch the dough down and mix
again. Again,
I cover with the cloth and let it rise 1 hour or
until doubles.
- In a loaf pan, I
coat the sides with shortening or butter.
I put the dough into the loaf pan
- Bake for 1 hour.
- When done, I
allow it to cool on a rack.
Picnicking
&
Tailgating
I find it best
to bake the bread the day before.
I place the loaf in a large plastic bag and
store in the picnic basket.
When I get to the picnic or tailgate site, I
just slice this fresh baked bread.
