New England Corned Beef Dinner

Ingredients:

Directions:
  1. Wash the corned beef.  In a large pot, add cold water and corned beef.  Bring to a slow boil and simmer for 2-1/2 to 3 hours.
  2. You want to cook the vegetables in a progressive order.  After the 2-1/2 to 3 hours, you first add the onions and turnips.  Thirty minutes later, add the carrots and potatoes.  
  3. Continue cooking another 15 minutes and add the cabbage.  Continue cooking 10 minutes and add the beets.  
  4. Keep it going for another 10 minutes and the dinner is finished cooking. 
  5. Serve on a platter.  You can use the mustard or horseradish as a condiment.
