Cabbage Patch Casserole

Makes 6 servingsCountry Roads Barn

Microwave Time: 22 min.

Ingredients:

  • 1 - medium head of cabbage
    2 - Tablespoon water
    1/2 - teaspoon salt
    4 - slices bacon
    1 - can (10 3/4 ounces) condensed cheddar cheese soup
    1/2 - cup milk
    1 - can French fried onion rings

Directions:

  1. Cut cabbage into wedges and place in 2 quart dish. Add water and salt. Cover and p lace in microwave. Cook for 12 to 14 minutes. Mix cabbage after 6 minutes, drain.

  2. Separate and place bacon strips on a paper towel, cook in microwave; crumble.  Mix together crumbed bacon, soup and milk until well blended.  Pour over cooked cabbage and mix thoroughly. Cover and place in microwave, cook for 5-6 minutes.

  3. Sprinkle onion rings over top of casserole.  Return to microwave, uncover and cook for 1-2 minutes or until lightly bubbling around edges.
