Prairie Buttermilk
Biscuits
Ingredients
- 4 - cups all-purpose flour

2 - teaspoons salt

1 - teaspoon baking soda

6 - Tablespoons shortening
-
2 - cups buttermilk
Directions
Preheat oven to 425° F. Grease cookie
sheet
- In a mixing bowl, sift in the flour,
salt and baking powder.
- Next, cut in the shortening.
- Add the buttermilk.
- Stir into a relatively stiff dough.
- Kneed slightly.
- On a floured board, roll the dough to
a 1/2-inch thickness.
- Cut into biscuits.
- Place biscuits on cookie sheet.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
