Old-Time Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:Cowboy Cooking Recipes from AlansKitchen.com

1/4 - cup shortening
3/4 - cup packed brown sugar
1 - egg, well beaten
1/2 - teaspoon vanilla extract
1-1/4 - cups all-purpose flour
1/2 - teaspoon baking powder
1/4 - teaspoon salt
1/4 - teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 - teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 - cup sour cream
2/3 - cup chopped milk chocolate or chocolate chips

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400-degrees F.
1) In a bowl, cream shortening and sugar.
2) In another bowl, add egg and vanilla. Blend into sugar mixture.
3) Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Add to sugar mixture, alternating with sour cream.
4) Stir in chocolate chips.
5) Drop by Tablespoon on to cooked sheet. Bake for 10 minutes,
Makes 3 dozen cookies.
