Missouri Bread Pudding
Makes 4 servings
Ingredients
- 2 - cups milk, scalded

1 - Tablespoon butter

1/2 - cup sugar

1/4 - teaspoon salt

2 - cups bread or biscuit, diced

1/2 - teaspoon nutmeg or cinnamon

4 - Tablespoons water
-
1 - cup seedless raisins
-
1/2 - cup heavy cream
-
2 - eggs, separated, white beaten until stiff
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease
baking dish.
- In your large mixing bowl, pour in
milk.
- Stir in the butter, sugar, and salt.
- Add bread or biscuits.
- Soak for 1 hour or more.
- Next, stir in the nutmeg or cinnamon, water, raisins, cream, egg yolks, then fold in the egg whites.
- Put into baking dish.
- Set into pan of hot water, and bake 30
minutes.
- Serve hot with cream.
