Barbecued Hot Dogs

Cowboy Cooking Recipes from AlansKitchen.comMakes 6 servings

Ingredients:

  • Barbecue Sauce
    • 2 - Tablespoon butter or margarine
    • 1/2 - cup chopped onion
    • 1 - teaspoon paprika
    • 1/2 - teaspoon pepper
    • 1/4 - teaspoon Tabasco
    • 1/4 - cup ketchup
    • 4 - teaspoon sugar
    • 4 - teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
    • 1 - teaspoon mustard
    • 3 - Tablespoon vinegar
  • 6 - hot dogs
  • 6 - hot dog buns
  • 1/2 - cup chopped cilantro

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 F.

  1. In a sauté pan, melt butter, add onion and cook until translucent. Then add the paprika, pepper, Tabasco, ketchup, sugar, Worcestershire Sauce, mustard, and vinegar.
  2. With a sharp knife, cut 3 inch slit in each hot dog. Place in flat baking pan, slit side up. 
  3. Pour half the sauce over the hot dogs and reserve the remaining barbecue sauce. Bake 20 minutes. Baste frequently.
  4. Place franks in split, toasted, buttered buns, garnish with fresh cilantro, and serve sauce separately.
