Chocolate Maple Nut Bars

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 - cups all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 - cup sugar
  • 1/2 - teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 - cup (1-1/2 sticks) cold butter or margarine
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1 - can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated milk)
  • 1-1/2 - teaspoons maple flavoring
  • 2 - cups chopped nuts
  • 1 - cup Hershey's Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Directions

Preheat oven to 350°F.

  1. Stir together flour, sugar and salt in large bowl; cut in butter until crumbly.
  2. Stir in 1 beaten egg.
  3. Press mixture evenly onto bottom of ungreased 13x9x2-inch baking pan and bake 25 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, beat sweetened condensed milk, remaining 1 egg and maple flavor in medium bowl and stir in nuts.
  5. Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over prepared crust.
  6. Gently spread nut mixture evenly over chocolate and return to oven.
  7. Bake 25 minutes or until golden.
  8. Cool completely in pan on wire rack.
  9. Cut into bars and store tightly covered at room temperature.
