Toasted Pecan Toffee Bars

Ingredients:

  • Bar Ingredients:
    •    2  cups all-purpose flour
    •    1  cup butter, softened
    •    1  cup firmly packed brown sugar
    • 1/2  teaspoon ground cinnamon
    •    1  teaspoon vanilla
    • 3/4  cup chopped pecans, toasted
    • 1/2  cup milk chocolate chips
  • Topping Ingredients:
    • 1/2  cup milk chocolate chips
    • 1/4  cup chopped pecans, toasted

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350-degrees F.

  1. In a large bowl, combine 2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 cup butter, 1 cup brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, and 1 teaspoon vanilla.

  2. Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  3. Stir in 3/4 cup pecans and 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips.

  4. Press mixture onto bottom of greased 13x9-inch baking pan.

  5. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.

  6. Immediately sprinkle with 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips. Let stand 5 minutes.

  7. Slightly swirl melted chips. Immediately sprinkle with 1/4 cup pecans.

  8. Cool completely. Cut into bars.
