Ingredients

- teaspoon baking soda

1 - Tablespoon hot water

1/2 - cup butter, melted

1/2 - cup brown sugar, packed

1 - cup molasses

2-1/2 - cup all-purpose flour, sifted

1/2 - teaspoon salt

1 - teaspoon cinnamon
-
1 - teaspoon ginger
-
1 - egg
Directions

In a small glass,
dissolve baking soda in hot water.

In a medium mixing bowl,
add the butter, brown sugar, and molasses. Mix. Add the soda
water.

Sift in the flour, salt,
cinnamon, and sugar.

Stir in the egg and beat
for 5 minutes.

Form the dough in a ball
and wrap with plastic wrap and place in refrigerator and chill
overnight.
Preheat oven to 350° F.

Next day, roll out dough
very thin.

Using a cookie cutter cut
out the cookies.
-
Place on ungreased cookie
sheets and put into oven.

Bake for 10 to 15
minutes.
