Puerto Rico Butter Cookie (Mantecaditos)

Cookie Recipes from Alan' s KitchenMakes about 6 dozen cookies

Ingredients

  • 2-1/4 - cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 - stick butter, soft

  • 1/2 - teaspoon vanilla

  • 1/2 - teaspoon almond extract

  • 1/2 - cup vegetable oil

  • chocolate chips

  • almonds

  • cherries

  • colored sugar plums

Directions

Preheat oven to 325° F.

  1. In a large mixing bowl, mix the flour, butter, vanilla, almond, and vegetable oil. 

  2. With a teaspoon, make a ball of dough. 

  3. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. 

  4. Press down with thumb. 

  5. Randomly place the chocolate chips, almonds, cherries and plums on top of cookie dough. 

  6. Place in oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes. 

  7. Place on wire rack to cool.
