Queen Anne's Cookies

Cookie Recipes from Alan' s KitchenMakes 24 cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 - cup butter, softened

  • 1/2 - cup sugar

  •    2 - egg yolks

  • 1/3 - cup sour cream

  • 1/2 - teaspoon baking soda

  •    2 - cups all-purpose flour

  •       cup caraway seeds

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350 F.

  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter.  Then add the sugar and beat the mixture until light.

  2. In a small bowl, beat the egg yolks with sour cream and baking soda.  Add this to the butter mixture.  Then gradually add the flour into the butter and sour cream mixture.  Only add enough flour to allow me to roll out the dough.

  3. On a floured board, roll dough to about a 1/4-inch thickness.  Using a cookie cutter, cut the cookies.  Place on a cookie sheet and sprinkle caraway seeds over the top.  Pop the cookie sheet into the oven and bake for 20 minutes.  When baked, allow the cookies to cool on a cookie rack.
