Blushing Apples
Blushing Apples Makes 4 (1 apple each) servings,

Prep Time: 15 min.
Cooking Time: 15 min.

Ingredients

  • 2 - package (4-serving size each) JELL-O Brand Strawberry Flavor Gelatin
  • 1/4 - teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 4 - cups water
  • 4 - medium apples, such as Granny Smith, McIntosh or Golden Delicious
  • 1/2 - cup thawed Whipped Topping
  • Fresh mint (if desired)

Directions

  1. In a 3- to 4-quart saucepan, you want to combine dry gelatin mix and cinnamon. Add water.
  2. Bring to boil on medium-high heat, stirring frequently until gelatin is completely dissolved.
  3. Peel and core apples. Add to gelatin mixture in saucepan and partially cover saucepan with lid.
  4. Return to boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer 10 to 15 min. or just until apples are fork tender, gently turning apples every 5 min.
  5. Remove apples from liquid. Serve apples warm.
  6. Or, cool and store in tightly covered container in refrigerator at least 1 hour or overnight.
  7. Serve each apple topped with 2 Tablespoons of the whipped topping.
  8. Garnish with fresh mint, if desired.
