All-American Favorite Fudge

Makes 9 dozen candies:

Fudge RecipesPrep time: 10 min.
Cooking time: 17 min.
Cooling Time: 2 hrs.

Ingredients

  • 4 - cups sugar
  • 1/2 - cup butter
  • 1 - can (12-ounces) evaporated milk
  • 2 - package (12-ounces) real semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 - jar (7-ounces) marshmallow crème
  • 2 - cups chopped walnuts
  • 2 - teaspoons vanilla

Directions

  1. In heavy 4-quart saucepan, mix sugar, butter and evaporated milk .
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until mixture comes to a full boil (7 to 10 minutes).
  3. Continue cooking, stirring constantly, until candy thermometer reaches 228°F (5 to 7 minutes).
  4. Remove from heat and gradually stir in chocolate chips until melted.
  5. Stir in marshmallow crème until well blended.
  6. Stir in nuts and vanilla.
  7. Spread into lightly buttered 13x9-inch pan. Cool at room temperature about 2 hours.
  8. Cut into 1-inch squares.
  9. Store refrigerated.
