Alan’s Easy Chocolate Fudge

Makes about 2 pounds (32 to 40 pieces):

Fudge RecipesPrep Time: 10 min.
Cook Time: 5 min.
Chill Time: 2 hrs.

Ingredients:

  • 3 - cups (18 ounces) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 - can (14-ounce) Sweetened Condensed Milk (NOT evaporated milk)
  • Dash salt
  • 1/2 to 1 - cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1-1/2 - teaspoons vanilla extract

Directions:

  1. In heavy saucepan, over low heat, melt chocolate chips with condensed milk and salt.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in nuts (optional) and vanilla.
  3. Spread evenly into wax paper lined 8- or 9-inch square pan.
  4. Chill for 2 hours or until firm.
  5. Turn fudge onto cutting board. Peel off paper and cut into 2-inch squares.
  6. Store covered in refrigerator.

Microwave:

  1. In 1-quart glass measure, combine chocolate chips with condensed milk and salt.
  2. Cook on HIGH (100% power) 3 minutes or until chips melt. You want to stir after 1 1/2 minutes.
  3. Stir in nuts and vanilla extract.
  4. Proceed as above.
