Ice Cream and Frozen Dessert Recipes from AlansKitchen.comIngredients

  • 2 - cups sugar
  • 2 - cups water

  • 1-1/2 - cups fresh grapefruit juice

  • 1 - Tablespoon finely grated grapefruit zest*

Directions

  1. In a 2-quart saucepan, add the sugar and water. Over medium-high heat, bring to a boil. 
  2. Reduce heat to low and simmer until sugar dissolves, about 3 - 4 minutes. 
  3. Stir occasionally. Cool completely*. 
  4. When cool, add grapefruit juice and zest; stir to combine. 
  5. Pour into the freezer bowl of your ice cream maker.

Freeze according to manufacturer's directions.

  1. Freeze until slushy, about 25 - 30 minutes. 
  2. Transfer to an airtight container and place in freezer until firm, about 2 hours.
