Ice Cream and Frozen Dessert Recipes from AlansKitchen.comPrep Time: 15 min.

Ingredients

  • 1 - Tablespoon butter or margarine
  • 1 - Tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 - medium cooking apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced (about 2 cups)
  • 1-1/2 - pints (3 cups) vanilla ice cream
  • 6 - Tablespoon Caramel Topping
  • 12 - Ginger Snaps, coarsely broken
  • Fresh mint sprigs

Directions

  1. Melt butter in large skillet on medium heat.
  2. Stir in brown sugar and add apples. Toss to coat.
  3. Cook 4 to 5 minutes or until apples are tender, stirring frequently.
  4. Scoop ice cream evenly into 6 dessert dishes
  5. Cover evenly with the warm apple mixture.
  6. Top each sundae with 1 Tablespoon of the topping and about 2 Tablespoons of the ginger snap pieces.
  7. Optional, Garnish with fresh mint sprigs just before serving.
  8. Serve immediately.
