Ice Cream and Frozen Dessert Recipes from AlansKitchen.comIngredients

  • 1/2 - cup sugar
  • 2 - teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 - cup half & half or whipping cream
  • 1/4 - cup light corn syrup
  • 1 - egg, slightly beaten
  • 2 - cup fresh or frozen unsweetened strawberries
  • 1 - cup plain lowfat yogurt, stirred

Directions

  1. In medium saucepan, add sugar and cornstarch. Then, stir in half & half and corn syrup. 
  2. Cook and stir over moderate heat until mixture simmers, cook 1 minute longer. 
  3. Remove from heat and stir in beaten egg. 
  4. Return to low heat; cook and stir 2 minutes. Remove from heat and cool. 
  5. In a blender or food processor fitted with metal blade, puree berries. 
  6. Add to cool egg mixture and stir in yogurt. 

Freeze according to manufacturer's directions.
