Applesauce Cake

Directions
Preheat oven
to 350 degrees. Grease
the 8-inch layer cake pan with shortening and dust with flour to coat.

In a mixing
bowl, sift the flour, baking powder,
salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves.
- In another large mixing
bowl, you want to
cream butter with the peanut butter and sugar. Beat in eggs (one at a time).
- Cut your flour mixture into fourths and add 1/4 flour mixture into
mixing bowl. Add 1/2 cup
of applesauce. Add the
next quarter flour mixture.
- Follow
it by adding another 1/2 cup of applesauce.
Alternate this until all flour and applesauce is in mixing bowl.
- Mix until smooth about two minutes. Pour into cake pan and
bake 45 to 50
minutes.
Wrap in plastic wrap and store in your picnic basket.
