Dump Cake

A mix of pineapple, sweet cherries and crunchy pecan can be yours by simply “dump” them in the pan and bake.

Makes 12 to 16 servings

Prep Time: 10 min.
Baking Time: 50 min.

Ingredients:

• 1 - can (20 ounce) crushed pineapple with juice, undrained

• 1 - can (21 ounce) cherry pie filling

• 1 - package classic yellow cake mix

• 1 - cup pecans or walnuts, chopped

• 1/2 - cup (1 stick) butter or margarine, cut into thin slices

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350ºF.  Grease a 13x9-inch pan.

1. Dump pineapple with juice into pan.  Spread evenly.

2. Dump in pie filling.  

3. Sprinkle cake mix evenly over cherry layer.  

4. Sprinkle pecans over cake mix.  

5. Dot with butter.

6. Bake for 50 minutes or until top is lightly browned.  Serve warm or at room temperature.

After cool, cover with plastic wrap and place into picnic basket.  Your family or friends will enjoy this fun cake.
