Ham-Swiss-&-Asparagus
Sandwiches
Makes 4 servings
Prep Time: 20 min.
Broiling Time: 1 min.
Ingredients:
- 3/4 - pound fresh asparagus
- 3 - Tablespoons light butter
or margarine (softened)
- 1 - small garlic cove
(minced)
- 4 - French (6-inch) bread
loaves (split)
- 3 - Tablespoons light
mayonnaise
- 8 - Baked Glazed Ham slices
- 4 - Swiss cheese slices
- Green leaf lettuce
- 3 - plum tomatoes (sliced)
Directions:
- You want to snap off tough
ends of asparagus. Cook in boiling water to cover for
3 minutes or until crisp tender. Drain and plunge into
ice water to stop the cooking process. Drain and
chill.
- In a small bowl, you want to
stir together the butter (or margarine) and garlic.
- Evenly spread butter mixture
bottom halves of bread.
- Evenly spread mayonnaise
over the top halves of the bread.
- Evenly layer bottom halves
with ham slices, asparagus, and cheese.
- Place on baking sheet and
broil 2-inches from heat 1-minute or just until cheese
melts.
- Evenly top with lettuce,
tomato, and top half of bread.
