New England Corned Beef Dinner
Makes 8 to 10 servings
Ingredients:
Directions:
- Wash the corned
beef. In a large pot, add cold
water and corned beef. Bring to
a slow boil and simmer for 2-1/2 to 3 hours.
- You want to cook
the vegetables in a progressive order.
After the 2-1/2 to 3 hours, you first add the onions and turnips.
Thirty minutes later, add the carrots and potatoes.
- Continue cooking another 15 minutes and add the cabbage.
Continue cooking 10 minutes and add the beets.
- Keep it going for another 10 minutes and the dinner is finished
cooking.
- Serve on a platter.
You can use the mustard or horseradish as a condiment.
