Queen Anne's Cookies

Makes 24 cookies

Prep Time: 15 min
Baking Time: 20 min

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 - cup butter, softened

  • 1/2 - cup sugar

  • 2 - egg yolks

  • 1/3 - cup sour cream

  • 1/2 - cup baking soda

  • 2 - cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/8 - cup caraway seeds

Directions:

I preheat the oven to 350 F.

  1. In a large mixing bowl, I cream the butter.  Then add the sugar and beat the mixture until light.  In a small bowl, I beat the egg yolks with sour cream and baking soda.  Add this to the butter mixture.

  2. Then I gradually add the flour into the butter and sour cream mixture.  Only add enough flour to allow me to roll out the dough.  On a floured board, I roll dough to about a 1/4-inch thickness.

  3. Using a cookie cutter, I cut the cookies.  Place on a cookie sheet and sprinkle caraway seeds over the top.  Pop the cookie sheet into the oven and bake for 20 minutes.  When baked, I allow the cookies to cool on a cookie rack.
