Cornmeal Hot Cakes

Pennsylvania Dutch Cooking from AlansKitchen.comMakes 25 cakes

Ingredients

  • 1 - teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 - cup buttermilk
  • 1 - Tablespoon all-purpose flour, sifted
  • 1 - teaspoon salt
  • 2 - cups cornmeal
  • 1 - egg, beaten

Directions

  1. In a mixing bowl, dissolve baking soda in buttermilk. 

  2. Add in the flour, salt, cornmeal, and egg. 

  3. Pour batter on greased hot griddle and cook until golden brown.  Turn once.
