Cream Waffles

Makes five 7-inch waffles Pennsylvania Dutch Cooking from AlansKitchen.com

Ingredients

  • 2 - teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 - cups buttermilk
  • 1 - cup sour cream
  • 1-1/2 - Tablespoons butter, melted
  • 3-3/4 - cups all-purpose flour, sifted
  • 1/2 - teaspoon salt
  • 2 - eggs (separated yolks and whites)

Directions

  1. In a mixing bowl, dissolve baking soda in buttermilk. 

  2. Add the sour cream, butter, flour, salt and beaten egg yolks.  Fold in the beaten egg whites. 

  3. Pour batter on hot greased waffle griddle and close lid, and bake until golden brown.
