Makes about 2 dozen biscuits.
- 3 - cups all-purpose flour, sifted
- 3 - Tablespoons baking powder
- 1/2 - teaspoon salt
- 2 - Tablespoons butter, softened
- 1/2 - teaspoon baking soda
- 1 - cup buttermilk
Preheat oven to 450° F. and grease baking sheet.
In a mixing bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and
salt - 3 or 4 times. Cut in the butter and thoroughly mix.
Dissolve the baking soda in the buttermilk and then stir into the
flour mixture. On a floured board, roll dough to 3/4-inch thickness,
cut out with biscuit cutter or drinking glass, and place on baking
Bake 2 to 5 minutes.
