- 1 - teaspoon baking soda
- 1 - cup buttermilk
- 1/2 - cup molasses
- 1 - cup graham flour
- 1 - cup stone-ground cornmeal
- 1/2 - teaspoon salt
- 1/2 - cup raisins
Preheat oven to 425° F. Grease tin can.
In a small mixing bowl, mix the baking
soda, buttermilk, and molasses.
In a large mixing bowl, sift
together the graham flour, cornmeal, and salt.
Add the buttermilk
mixture and beat together. Now add the raisins.
In a tin can that has a cover, fill it
two-thirds full with the batter, cover, and steam in hot water for 2
hours. Remove and bake for 10 to 15 minutes.
