Gold Cake

  • 2 - cup sifted cake flour
  • 1/2 - teaspoon salt
  • 2 - teaspoons baking powder
  • 8 - egg yolks
  • 1-1/2 - cups sugar
  • 1 - teaspoon lemon juice
  • 2 - teaspoons orange juice
  • 1 - Tablespoon grated orange rind
  • 1 - cup milk

Directions

Preheat oven to 325 F. Grease & flour cake pan.

  1. Sift flour 4 times.  Resift with salt and baking powder. 

  2. Beat egg yolks lightly until thick.  Add sugar, lemon juice, orange juice, and milk. 

  3. Stir well together.  Sift in flour and baking powder. 

  4. Fold in grated orange rind.  Bake for about 50 minutes.
