Hickory Nut Cake
- 1 - cup butter
- 1 - pound powdered sugar
- 4 - eggs
- 3 - cups flour
- 1/4 - teaspoon salt
- 2-1/2 - teaspoons baking powder
- 1 - cup milk
- 1 - cup hickory nutmeats
- 1 - teaspoon almond or vanilla flavoring
Preheat oven to 325° F. Grease & flour 8-inch loaf pan.
Cream butter and sugar, stir in beaten
Sift flour with salt and baking powder and add alternately
Flour the nutmeats lightly and fold into batter with 1
teaspoon almond or vanilla flavoring. Bake for 10 minutes, raise heat to 350° F. and
bake about 40 minutes longer.
