Cream Taffy

Ingredients:

• 1 - pound white sugar
• 3 - Tablespoons vinegar
• 1 - teaspoon cream tartar
• 1/2 - cup water
• 1 - teaspoon vanilla

Directions:

1. Moisten the sugar with the water; simmer together with vinegar and cream tartar until candy hardens when tested in cold water. 
2. Add vanilla (or mint flavoring if preferred). 
3. Pour on buttered pan to cool. 
4. Pull with buttered fingers. Break into pieces.
