Makes about 100 cookies

Ingredients:Pennsylvania Dutch Cooking from AlansKitchen.com

  • 2 - cups butter

  • 3-1/2 - cups confectioners' sugar

  • 5 - eggs, lightly beaten

  • 4 - cups flour,  sifted

  • 1 - teaspoon soda, dissolved in 1/2 cup sour cream

  • 1 - teaspoon vanilla

  • 1/4 - teaspoon salt

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 F.  Grease cookie sheets.

  1. Cream butter and sugar, stir in eggs.  Sift in flour, stir in sour cream and soda, add vanilla and salt.  Mix well.  Chill. 

  2. Roll out very thin on floured board, cut in shapes.  Place on cookie sheets.

  3. Bake for about 10 minutes.
