Grandfather's Fried Oysters

Makes 6 servingsPennsylvania Dutch Cooking from AlansKitchen.com

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Take the oysters right out of their liquor without draining, dip first in the crumbs, then set aside on a board in a cool place. 

  2. (Make sure never to piece the oysters with a fork. Lift them on a flat, slotted spoon.) 

  3. Dip in the egg, then in the crumbs, and asset aside again. 

  4. Fry quickly in deep, hot fat. 

  5. Drain on brown paper. 

  6. Serve at once with ketchup or tarter sauce.
