Apple Rings

IngredientsPennsylvania Dutch Cooking from AlansKitchen.com

  • 2 - Tablespoons sugar
  • 1-1/2 - cups sifted flour
  • 1-1/2 - teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 - teaspoon salt
  • 1 - egg
  • 1 - cup milk
  • Apples
  • Sugar and cinnamon

Directions

  1. Sift together sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt. 
  2. Beat the egg in a bowl, add milk and blend. 
  3. Sift in the dry ingredients to make batter. 
  4. Peel and core apples and slice in rings.
  5. Dip in the batter and drop in deep fat, frying quickly on both sides. 
  6. Drain on brown paper. 
  7. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. 
  8. Serve at once.
