Flank Steak With Dressing
Pennsylvania Dutch Cooking from AlansKitchen.comMakes 4 servings.

Ingredients

  • 1 - flank steak

  • 1/2 - lemon

  • 1/2 - teaspoon sugar

  • 1/2 - teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 - teaspoon pepper

  • 1 - cup water

  • 1 - onion, sliced

  • Dressing

    • 1 - cup bread crumbs

    • 1/2 - teaspoon salt

    • 1/4 - teaspoon pepper

    • 1/4 - teaspoon beef seasoning

    • 2 - Tablespoon onions, minced

    • 3 - Tablespoon butters, melted

    • 1/4 - cup milk

    • 1 - egg, beaten

    • 3 - strips bacon

Directions

Preheat oven to 425� F.

  1. Score the steak on both side, use the lemon half to rub in the sugar and a little lemon juice. 

  2. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

  3. Combine the crumbs, seasoning, onion, butter, and milk. 

  4. Add the egg. 

  5. Mix well and spread thickly on the steak. Roll up the steak and tie with a cord. 

  6. Fry the bacon, remove it, and brown the steak roll in the bacon drippings.

  7. Place roll in a roasting pan, pour in water, and spread the sliced onion over the top. 

  8. Cover tightly and roast for 2 hours.
