Chocolate Pudding
Makes 3 servings

1-1/2 - cup bread bits, tightly packed
2 - cup milk
1 - egg
1/4 - teaspoon salt
1 - Tablespoon sugar
2 - ounces chocolate
1/2 - teaspoon vanilla

Preheat oven 350� F. Butter pudding dish.

  • Soak bread in milk for about an hour. 
  • Beat egg with salt and sugar. 
  • Grate chocolate and melt, add with vanilla. 
  • Stir all ingredients together. 
  • Bake until pudding is set. 
  • Serve hot, with hard sauce:

1 - cup confectioners' sugar
1/2 - cup soft butter
1/8 - teaspoon salt
1 - teaspoon vanilla
1 - egg

  • Sift sugar and cream it with the butter. 
  • Add salt and flavoring. 
  • Beat in the egg. 
  • When sauce is smooth chill until firm.
