Dutch Pear Pie

Makes 1 (9-inch) piePennsylvania Dutch Cooking from AlansKitchen.com

Prep Time: 15 min
Baking Time: 50 min

Ingredients:

  • 1/4  cup flour
  • 3/4  cup sugar
  •    1  cup cream or canned evaporated milk
  •    1  Tablespoon lemon juice
  •    5  fresh pears, peeled and iced or canned pears in light syrup
  • 1/4  teaspoon cinnamon
  •    1  Tablespoon sugar
  •    1  unbaked (9-inch) pie shell

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400 F.

  1. In a mixing bowl, sift together flour and sugar.  Stir in cream or evaporated milk and lemon juice.  Mix until smooth.

  2. Add pears.  Pour into an unbaked pie shell.

  3. Sprinkle top with cinnamon and 1-Tablespoon sugar.  Bake for 45 to 50 minutes.  Cool until set.
