Apple Crumb Pie

Pennsylvania Dutch Cooking from AlansKitchen.comMakes 1 (9-inch) pie

Prep Time: 15 min
Baking Time: 1 hr

Ingredients:

  • 6     cups apples, peeled and sliced
  • 3/4  cup sugar
  • 1/4  cup flour
  • 1     teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1     unbaked (9-inch) shell
  • 3     Tablespoons water

Crumb Topping

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375 F.

  1. In a bowl, combine apples, sugar, 1/4-cup flour, and cinnamon. Pour into pie shell and sprinkle with water.

  2. In a bowl, mix butter or margarine, brown sugar, and 1-cup flour.

  3. Spread topping over apples.  Bake for 1 hour.
