Never Fail Pie Crust

Pennsylvania Dutch Cooking from AlansKitchen.comMakes 4 (9-inch) pie shells

Prep Time: 20 min

Ingredients:

  •       3  cup flour
  •       1  teaspoon salt
  • 1-1/4  cups vegetable shortening
  •       1  egg, beaten
  •    1/3  cup cold water
  •       1  Tablespoon vinegar

Directions:

  1. In mixing bowl, sift flour and salt.  Cut in shortening

  2. In a bowl, combine egg, cold water, and vinegar.  Stir egg mixture into flour mixture.

  3. Let stand a few minutes.  Roll dough on floured board to desired thickness.
