(Abe's Have-Some-More Cake)

Makes 1 (8-inch) Pie.Pennsylvania Dutch Cooking from AlansKitchen.com

Ingredients

  • Pastry
    • 3/4 - cup flour, sifted
    • 1/2 - teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 - cup shortening
    • 1/4 - cup butter
    • 2 - Tablespoons cold milk
  • Filling
    • 1/2 - cup flour, sifted
    • 4 - Tablespoons sugar
    • 1-1/2 - cups cream
    • 1 - Tablespoon butter
    • Cinnamon

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 F.

  1. Mix pastry very lightly, as it is very rich.  Chill.  Roll out one way on floured board to 1/8-inch thickness. 

  2. Line a deep pie dish with pastry, dot with butter.  In a mixing bowl, add cinnamon, flour, and sugar. 

  3. Mix and sift into the pie.  Pour cream over this and again dot with butter. 

  4. Sprinkle cinnamon across top.  Bake for about 45 minutes.
