To the
Pennsylvania Germans grumbera means potato, but literally it
means pear
Ingredients
- 4 - large potatoes, peeled
and diced

1 - large yellow onion, thinly sliced

4 - cups water, boiling

4 - cups milk
-
1/2 - teaspoon salt

1/8 - teaspoon pepper

2 - Tablespoons butter
-
2 - teaspoons parsley, chopped
Directions
- In a stockpot, add the
potatoes, onion, to the water.
- Heat at moderate heat and
boil for 30 minutes or until the potatoes are
tender.
- Add the milk and stir
constantly until soup reaches rapid boil.
- Reduce heat to low and
simmer 5 minutes.
- Season with salt and
pepper then add the butter.
- Sprinkle parsley into the
soup and serve.
