Makes 4 servings
Rivvel in Pennsylvania German means flakes or lumps.
- 4 - cups milk
- 2 - eggs
- 2 - heaping tablespoons flour
- 1/2 - teaspoon salt
- 1/8 - teaspoon pepper
In a stockpot, pour in milk and heat at
moderate heat for 10 minutes.
Beat the eggs and cut into the flour with
a knife until the mixture flakes.
- You form Rivvels by
rubbing the mixture through the hands, letting it fall into
the soup in flakes.
Turn the heat down to low and simmer for
a 3 minutes or the flour blends with the milk.
Add the salt and pepper.
Pour into bowls and garnish with parsley.
