Tzvivvelle
(Onion Soup) Supp
Makes 6 servings.

3 - cups water
2 - cups yellow onions, chopped
3 - cups milk
2 - Tablespoons butter
1/2 - teaspoon salt
1/8 - teaspoon pepper
6 - slices toast
1/2 - cup cheddar cheese, grated

  • In a stockpot, bring water to a boil at moderate heat and add in the onions. 
  • Cook until tender or about 30 minutes. 
  • Add in the milk and reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes. 
  • Next, add the butter, salt and pepper. 
  • Simmer for another 2 minutes.
  • In the soup bowls, place the toast and place a serving of cheese on the toast. 
  • Then ladle the soup over the cheese and toast. 
  • Serve right away.
