(Onion Soup) Supp
Makes 6 servings.
3 - cups water
2 - cups yellow onions, chopped
3 - cups milk
2 - Tablespoons butter
1/2 - teaspoon salt
1/8 - teaspoon pepper
6 - slices toast
1/2 - cup cheddar cheese,
grated
- In a stockpot, bring water to a
boil at moderate heat and add in the onions.
- Cook until tender or about 30
minutes.
- Add in the milk and reduce heat
to low and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Next, add the butter, salt and
pepper.
- Simmer for another 2 minutes.
- In the soup bowls, place the
toast and place a serving of cheese on the toast.
- Then ladle the soup over the
cheese and toast.
- Serve right away.
