Fried Corn

Pennsylvania Dutch Cooking from AlansKitchen.comMakes 4 servings

Prep Time: 10 min
Cooking Time: 15 min

Ingredients:

  •    2  cups corn
  •    6  slices bacon
  • 1/2  cup milk
  • 1/4  cup water
  • 1/2  teaspoon salt
  • 1/4  teaspoon pepper

Directions:

  1. In a skillet at moderate heat, fry bacon and drain on paper towels.
  2. You want to reserve 1/3 cup of bacon drippings and discard the remaining.
  3. Pour the reserved drippings back into the skillet.
  4. Add the corn and fry for 5 minutes or until lightly browned.
  5. Add the milk, water, salt, and pepper and mix.
  6. Simmer 10 minutes or until thick and nicely browned.
