The Tuskegee National Forest is a U.S.
National Forest located in Macon County, Alabama, just north of
Tuskegee and west of Auburn. The topography is level to moderately
sloping, with broad ridges with stream terraces and broad floodplains.
Tuskegee National Forest has the dubious honor
of being the smallest of its kind in America, but supports many
outdoor activities.
The forest was established on November 27, 1959.
Places to Picnic
Taska Recreation Area
is a picnic area located right along highway 80.
The area which is a part of the Black Belt
Nature and Heritage Trail has picnic tables, grills, and an
interpretive kiosk.
