Wildwood Park and the Benjamin Olewine III
Nature Center offer a place to relax, explore and learn. The 210
acre park is known for the 90 acre shallow lake, 6 miles of
trails, 1.5 miles of boardwalks and a convenient stop for exercise
enthusiasts and nature goers.
The Olewine Nature Center's exhibit hall
displays the workings of a freshwater wetland and gives visitors a
glimpse of the wildlife inhabitants.
The park offers outdoor recreation
opportunities including excellent birding, picnicking,
hiking/walking trails, fishing, biking and more. The park is open
daily from dawn to dusk.
The Nature Center is one of the leading
interpretive centers in the area and an excellent resource center
for groups, educators, nature enthusiasts, and home-schooled
children. The center is open Tuesday-Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00
p.m.
Facilities and Overview
This beautiful 210 acre Nature Sanctuary
contains a 90 acre lake and wetlands, a diversity of flora and
fauna, and is situated just north of Harrisburg in a very central
location. The state of the art Nature Center offers a variety of
programs and expert Naturalists year round. Six miles of trails
and handicapped accessible boardwalks make this park a favorite
for nature enthusiasts, walkers, and joggers.
Location
From US 22/322, exit onto Route 39, west.
Turn left onto Industrial Road. Various parking lots are located
on the left hand side of Industrial Road. To visit the Nature
Center, proceed 1.2 miles to Wildwood Way. Turn left and follow it
to the Nature Center.
