Princeton
is a city in Mercer County, West Virginia, United States. The
population was 6,347 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Bluefield,
WV-VA micropolitan area which has a population of 107,578. It is the
county seat of Mercer County[3]. The town hosts the Princeton Rays
baseball club of the Appalachian League.
Parks
The Parks Department also provides the community
with numerous venues to enjoy leisure time. During the past fiscal
year, through grant funding, they completed the construction of Knob
Street Playground. They installed playground equipment, resurfaced the
basketball court, paved a walking track, and constructed a picnic
shelter. Other facilities include:
FACILITIES
Princeton Recreation Center Complex:
Includes Princeton Skatepark, softball field,
outdoor basketball court, gymnasium, karate dojo, video arcade,
racquetball court, and meeting rooms.
Princeton City Park:
Includes 3 shelters, an all-purpose stage,
fitness trail, sand volleyball court, horseshoe pits, playground
equipment, and two little league baseball fields.
Princeton City Pool:
With 35’ waterslide
Community Playgrounds:
Oliver Street, McKinley Avenue, Lower Pine
Street, Washington Avenue, Knob Street, and Valley Street outdoor
basketball court.
