Small, wooded
picnic area adjacent to the North Fork Cherry River.
Located on State
Route 39/55 East of Richwood, West Virginia.
From Richwood, West
Virginia, travel east on Stte Route 39/55
approximately 8 miles.
March 15th through
December 1st. Open daily 6:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m.
This site offers a
smaller area for family gatherings. Picnic tables
and grills are dispersed throughout the wooded area.
Two accessible toilets and a hand pump for water are
provided.
Scenic
This picnic area is located along the Highland
Scenic Highway.
Fishing
Trout fishing is available in the adjacent North
Fork Cherry River and nearby in Summit Lake. A valid
West Virginia State Fishing License is required,
along with a National Forest stamp and a trout
stamp. Please contact the West Virginia Division of
Natural Resources for more information on fishing
and hunting licensing requirements.
There are no fees
for use of the picnic area.
Reservable
- No. Picnic sites are on a first come, first served
basis.
- Camping is
prohibited in the picnic area.
- There are three
free campsites located across the road from the
picnic area.
