Beef Steak Gyros

Ingredients
- 1 - pound beef
shoulder steaks
- 1 - cup plain low fat
yogurt
- 1/4 - cup cucumber,
diced
- 1-1/2 - teaspoons
garlic, minced
- 1/2 - teaspoon salt
- 1/4 - teaspoon pepper
- 1 - teaspoon dried
oregano leaves, crushed
- 4 - pita bread
pockets, cut crosswise in half, warmed
Directions
- In a small bowl, add
yogurt, cucumber, 1/2 teaspoon garlic, salt and
pepper.
- Mix, cover and
refrigerate.
- In a small bowl, add
oregano and remaining garlic. Mix and press evenly
onto steaks.
- Heat large nonstick
skillet over medium.
- Place steaks in
skillet; cook, turning twice, 13 to 15 minutes for
medium rare to medium doneness (internal temp 150°F
to 160°F).
- Carve steaks into thin
slices; season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve in pita pockets
with sliced onion and tomatoes and yogurt sauce.
