Beef Steak Gyros
Beef Steak Gyros Makes 4 servings

Prep Time: 15 min.
Cooking Time: 15 min.

Ingredients

  • 1 - pound beef shoulder steaks
  • 1 - cup plain low fat yogurt
  • 1/4 - cup cucumber, diced
  • 1-1/2 - teaspoons garlic, minced
  • 1/2 - teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 - teaspoon pepper
  • 1 - teaspoon dried oregano leaves, crushed
  • 4 - pita bread pockets, cut crosswise in half, warmed

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, add yogurt, cucumber, 1/2 teaspoon garlic, salt and pepper. 
  2. Mix, cover and refrigerate.
  3. In a small bowl, add oregano and remaining garlic. Mix and press evenly onto steaks.
  4. Heat large nonstick skillet over medium. 
  5. Place steaks in skillet; cook, turning twice, 13 to 15 minutes for medium rare to medium doneness (internal temp 150°F to 160°F).
  6. Carve steaks into thin slices; season with salt and pepper to taste. 
  7. Serve in pita pockets with sliced onion and tomatoes and yogurt sauce.
